Field Trip 2 the store

There is nothing worse/better than your child getting bigger. I always notice when he is getting bigger at the end of school years and other time markers.

As one of Caleb’s end of the year field trips, we visited Stater Brothers. We had a blast and got a nice goody bag. It was really interesting to see behind the scenes in a grocery business and Caleb got to try his grocery store worker skills out. My friend Robin was also a chaperone.

I keep telling Caleb to stop growing because I love my little boy but secretly I am really proud of the little man he is becoming. Shhhh… Don’t tell him.

Valentines Day Party

This year Josh and I celebrated our Valentines Day a few days early with a romantic dinner at the Melting Pot. We used the actual Valentines Day to love on our friends by hosting a Valentines Day KIDS ONLY party so dates could he had by all. My awesome teenage cousins Ian and Gracie came over to help watch the party crew. We rocked out to love songs, danced, did crafts, ate dinner and dessert, played games, and watched Lady and the Tramp. It was seriously so fun it may just be tradition in the making.

We scored some tickets to the last minute Switchfoot show at the Riverside County Fair and Date Fest. Did you know that Riverside has a County fair? Neither did I. Did you know you can have an annual pass to it? Hmmm. It is in Indio. I did not even know Indio was in Riverside County. Good to know. Let’s just say that there was some great people watching there.

We heard about this concert with barely enough time to spare to drive there. Apparently the Date Fest had scheduled the band Kansas to play but they were unable to make it so at the last minute they got Switchfoot to fill in. How lucky and an upgrade in my eyes!

Josh and I have been dying to take Caleb to a real live concert and even better that it was a band that he loves so much. Josh and Caleb got to stand right under the stage in the pit, while Jo and I stood back to spare Jo’s little ears. Even though Caleb knows practically every word to the songs his reaction was not what we expected. He was seriously watching everything and was embarrassed by Josh’s singing. He is our emo child. Jo was rocking out dancing and I even heard her singing to Hello Hurricane. Hilarious.

After the concert I asked Caleb how it went. In his most excited voice he said, “That concert was so jacked up (he means this in a good way). It was blankin’ out my ears!” Wow. Hearing damage and all, it was a GREAT and spontaneous night.

New Years Eve

We partied the night away with good friends at an awesome 70’s disco dance party. I think we finally got to bed at 5am and then woke up at 7am to pick up our kids. Can you dig it?

Grand Californian Adventure

Excuse me for skipping Christmas but I have been procrastinating on downloading some pictures from my big camera. Soooo… While Josh’s Mom was still in town for Christmas we scooted over to the Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland for a night. It was very fun. Here are our pictures from the trip.

Christmas Eve’s Eve

My family always celebrates Christmas at the Mission Inn with my Grandpa and Grandma Saunders. After dinner we head over to their house for a gift exchange and appearance from Santa. It is always fun and looked forward to every year. This year at their house my Grandma had a slideshow running of pictures from Cancun. It was awesome!

Lego Party

For Caleb’s fifth birthday he wanted a Lego birthday party. Caleb had a great time inviting his little friends and thinking of fun ideas for his party. We had served homemade mac and cheese, had a brownie cake, put together legos, hit a pinata and opened presents. Caleb said his favorite part was opening presents.
